One of our brand's missions is to be eco-friendly and sustainable. Today, we are delighted to share three things we do to accomplish that mission.
1. No-waste production
Because of the reused materials and calculation for not to create waste, we almost always have 0 waste during the production. Rare case scenario, we have recyclable rubbish.
2. Selecting eco-friendly option
We mindfully choose better options for the environment. Take an example on our Masu Box Candle in the flavor Muki; we accomplished to source the following materials:
- Masu box made of leftover wooden pieces produced during the house-making process
- Sustainably made biodegradable wick
- Recyclable wick clip
- Recyclable kraft product box
- Sustainable and renewable soy wax
- Sustainably made Japanese washi paper thank you cards and wrapping paper
- Recyclable shipping boxes made of recycled materials
- Recyclable and biodegradable plastic-free cushioning wrap
- Soy ink pads
We are proud to announce that almost all materials we use are eco-friendly.
3. Reusable item
Creativity goes a long way! We wanted to use items and materials that could serve multiple purposes. Here are some ideas we came up with during the product planning period.
- Silver rubber band used in the packaging can hold the candle lid in place
- Silver rubber band as a hair tie
- The lid as a Japanese art piece
- The lid as a coster
- Masu box as a storage box after use of candle (like jewelry!)
- Washi paper as a decorative piece
